Chase sat at her usual table away from all the people. She sat in the darker half of the cafeteria where no one sat. Her friends knew that lunch and before and after school were her alone times. She ate slowly like there was something keeping her there. She ate her apple in silence and looked at the water bottle beside her tray. She didn't diet but she did have to eat healthy if she didn't want sickness to ctach up with her and take away her voice. She flipped her hair over her shoulder looking at her tray, deep in thought.
She looked at the floor on the other side of the table which wasn't really that hard because the table was pretty much as wide as a cardboard box that laptops came in. One good reason was that it had probably been an old desk that couldn't fit in storage and had been forgotten amongst the broken or breaking dusty tables.
She ate the rest of her ham, cheese, and lettuce sandwich and threw the rest away except the water bottle. She sat back at her little mini table. Hardly anyone knew that it was one of Forks High's really popular students sitting here. Mainly because there was this geeky girl that had hair like hers that no one knew where she went for lunch. They just assumed that Chase was her and ignored her. Not that she had a problem with that. She liked to have a bit of alone time.

Hayden was sitting alone at lunch today. Actually, he usually ate alone. People didn't like him. He scared them away. And it wasn't like he even wanted to talk to anyone. People weren't his thing. Acually, nothing was really his thing. He ddin't have any passions or anything like that. Just as long as he had his sister, he was alright. Hayden ddin't ever eat lunch, either. He dind't want to spend the money on some crap food that would probably just give him food poisoning anyway. He'd eat at home, thank you very much. Hayden looked around the cafeteria. People eating. Other people making out. Everybody had friends to talk to. Everybody but him. And then... this girl. She was sitting all by herself, contemplating an apple like it was a life-or-death situation. Hayden smirked to himself, thinking about Skye, this girl he'd met the other day out in the lawn, behind the parking lot. What was wrong with the female population at this school? It seemed like it was his job to entertain every girl within a hundred mile radius. Because he couldn't just leave her like that. It was too depressing. And it reminded him too much of himself. He got up from his table and made his way over to her. "Hey. I'm Hayden. Anybody sitting here?"

Chase looked up as she heard footsteps coming towards her. She knew this for two reasons: A) the trashcans were on the other side of the cafeteria B) she was the only person sitting over here. Well, makes it pretty obvious why whoever this person was was coming over here. She looked up, wow a guy. She didn't bother trying to smile at him, she wasn't fake. Anyways you could always tell she was faking somehow. She looked back down and picked at the wrapper on the water bottle, a small pile of plastic forming around the bottle by the time he finally reached her. "I'm Chase, and I guess no one's sitting here. Have fun finding room," she said sarcastically indicating the seven or eight inches of available space. Just grab one of the chairs, no one's gonna care anyways."
Him looking for a chair was making her feel awkward so she grabbed one of the old chairs that was actually still in pretty good shape and pushed it towards him. "I promise it won't break and you won't get bitten," she said looking at him. He must be pretty bored to be talking to some girl he didn't even know. She laughed quietly remembering the first time she'd sat over here. She hadn't known the chairs would break and she'd picked one of the broken chairs. Luckily there wasn't anything on the floor but dust and no one to see her fall. She looked around the cafeteria looking for her twin sister. She found her sitting in her usual spot near the exit. Satisfied, she looked down at the water bottle and waited/
